Canary Project, Syracuse University
Self-reliance skills workshop series
Concept, Visual Design, Experiential Design, Educational Design and Instruction
In collaboration with The Canary Project's Modern Primitive Exchange initiative, I designed a workshop series for Syracuse University students and local high school students to learn self-reliance skills over six events throughout the Spring of 2014.
Workshops included Community Organizing and Web Design, Bike Repair, Build a Bike-Powered Phone Charger, Build an Earth Oven, Build a Geodesic Dome Greenhouse and Growing Food.
The aim of the WILDER COMPOUND project is to both provide a hub where students and members of the community can learn hands-on skills, but also create a handbook that, along with tutorials on the website, can enable people anywhere to recreate these workshops and build learning centers for resilient communities.
